The spirit of the world is always against the things of God; the spirit of the world is anti-God. Hence, why everything the world is for the word of God is against like homosexuality, drugs, fornication, adultery and more.
The operation of the spirit of this world is the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life | GET MORE; they want you to keep up with the jones; if they get it then I get it, they want you to covet what others have and to compete with others.
- Lust of the flesh is used to gratify the sexual sense
- Lust of the eyes is to make you materialistic; you can’t get enough, you want more and more
The spirit of this world wants me to become more worldly; to give in to my flesh desires.
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” The lust of the eyes occurs when we see something visually that incites covetousness, jealousy, or sexual lust. The pride of life is the desire in every human being to be his or her own god. Arrogance, self-promotion, and greed all stem from the pride of life. The lust of the flesh is also one of the foes we fight.
When the Bible refers to “the flesh,” it can mean one of two things. The first meaning of the word flesh pertains to living beings on earth such as animals, birds, and people (1 Corinthians 15:39). But most often the Bible uses the word flesh to refer to the propensity to sin we possess in our earthly existence. Our sinful nature, dominated by sin and rebellion, is so closely tied to the physical aspect of mankind that it is called “the flesh.” Every human being is born of the flesh, the union between a man and a woman that produced another flesh-bound human. Desires that arise from being fleshly creatures in a fallen world can quickly become sinful lusts.

DID YOU KNOW | you are a spirit receiving spiritual signals; your job is to compare the spiritual signals you’re receiving to the spirit of God. The signals of this world will lead me into my flesh and it will cause me to be more worldly. The signals of God will lead me into the word or into prayer.
Hence, why the word of God says once you are saved and filled and lead by the Holy Spirit; you are no longer a citizen of this world, even though you live in this world, you are not of the world.
