Hypertension forces the heart to work harder, which damages blood vessels throughout the body including those found in the kidneys.
Over time, the gradual increase in Blood Pressure takes it tolls on the kidneys, causing damage to the blood flow; which leads to a vicious cycle of events.
As the kidneys incur damage they become less able to perform their necessary functions, which includes waste removal, the regulation of the body’s water levels, the protection of the renin, and the hormones that control blood pressure.
DID YOU KNOW: Obesity plays a vital role in type 2 diabetes and hypertension, both of which are major contributors to kidney failure.
- The heavier you are, the more work your kidneys have to do to keep your body functioning properly. Which eventually wears out the organs and cause them to fail.
