WHY you shouldn’t fornicate with another man’s wife or vice versa?

These verses listed below is God’s way of telling us why we shouldn’t fornicate with another man’s wife or another wife husband. The verses are from Proverbs – Chapter 6: Verse 27 to 29 & Verse 32 to 35/36

I will provide the KJV and also the NIV version so you can see the original word but also can easily understand because that’s the goal. You want to be able to understand the scripture so that you can apply it to your life.

King James Version:

6:27 “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

6:28 ” Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

6:29 ” So he that goeth in to his neighbor’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent

6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

6:33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

6:34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

6:35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.

New International Version:

6:27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap
without his clothes being burned?

6:28 Can a man walk on hot coals
without his feet being scorched?

6:29 So is he who sleeps with another manโ€™s wife;
no one who touches her will go unpunished.

6:32 But a man who commits adultery has no sense;
whoever does so destroys himself.

6:33 Blows and disgrace are his lot,
and his shame will never be wiped away.

6:34 For jealousy arouses a husbandโ€™s fury,
and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

6:35 He will not accept any compensation;
he will refuse a bribe, however great it is.

Based off what you read, what is your interpretation of the scripture? Do you think that fornicating with someone’s wife/husband is righteous or sinful? Why do you think society has deem this acceptable?
