I would say that I am a very open-minded person and I love to talk to people who possess a different outlook on life. However, I do catch myself on days when I’m not as open as I would like to be. On those days, when my stress or anxiety levels are high and someone speaks on a topic; that tugs at my heart strings or simply I dislike: I notice myself closing that person off. Viewing their idea as something negative; rather than trying to hear that person out.
Now, I have been focused on being open with every being on this realm. Not only accepting them but also being open to their ideas because everyone has their on perspective on the world. Everyone’s perspective is a voice that needs to be heard; no matter if you agree or disagree with it.
In addition, close minded or narrow mindedness can be toxic. When we are close minded: we tend to treat others who have an different outlook differently. We easily become angered, agitated, and uncomfortable when people with different beliefs and ideas are presented.
Beware! We don’t have all the answers and we never will. We aren’t capable of experiencing every thing so it’s always beneficial to be open to others because they can provide you with information that you never even heard or thought of. And that’s because they have experienced some things you have never experienced.
Being open leads to:
- You finding yourself not fighting with yourself in accepting others
- You feeling at ease with differences because everyone’s different.
- You would embracing the differences, wanting to understand things better and become adaptable in flexible with your approaches.
If you don’t go through life with an open mind, you’ll find a lot of closed doors – Mark. Perrett
BE OPEN, and let life bring you joy & inspiration. Sometimes, by saying NO, you’re depriving yourself of what could be a happier life
People will NEVER truly understand something until it happens to them
