Complex Carbohydrates can be found in vegetables and whole grains. They provide longer-lasting energy than simple carbohydrates. They act as a long-term fuel source and they contribute to energy production.

Complex Carbohydrates are composed of three or more sugars. Complex carbohydrates take much longer to digest than simple sugars, so they don’t rise your blood sugar level quickly as simple carbohydrates.
