GUIDE TO ESTIMATING REASONABLE PORTIONS

  • 1 cup of cereal flakes = adult fist
  • 1/2 cup of cooked rice or pasta = half a baseball
  • 2 cups of salad greens = 2 baseballs
  • 1 medium baked potato = adulst fist
  • 1 cup of fresh fruit = baseball
  • 1/2 cup of raisins = 2 large eggs
  • 1 oz of cheese = 4 dice
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter = half a ping-pong ball
  • 3 oz of meat or poultry = deck of cards
  • 3 oz of grilled/baked fish = checkbook
